About Kirknie

Kirknie is a rural locality in the Shire of Burdekin in North Queensland, situated on the Burdekin River floodplain west of Home Hill. Bounded by the Burdekin River to the west and the Bogie River to the south, with the Stokes Range rising to the north, its fertile alluvial soils support sugarcane cultivation in one of Australia's most productive cane-growing regions. The nearest major towns of Home Hill and Ayr provide residents with essential services.
