About Jarvisfield
Jarvisfield is a coastal rural locality about nine kilometres south-east of Ayr in the Shire of Burdekin. Bounded by the Coral Sea, Burdekin River and Plantation Creek, the flat low-lying land is used primarily for sugarcane and the name comes from Jarvisfield Station established in 1862. The Kalamia and Pioneer sugar mills are nearby.
