About Carstairs
Carstairs is a rural locality in the Shire of Burdekin, about 6.5 kilometres east of Home Hill and 102 kilometres south-east of Townsville. The Burdekin River forms its northern and eastern boundaries, and the land is predominantly used for growing sugarcane processed at the Inkerman Sugar Mill in neighbouring Home Hill.
