About Calcium

Calcium is a rural locality south of Townsville, Queensland, named for the Calcium railway station on the Great Northern railway, which was named before 1914 after the calcium-bearing lime mined in the area. The locality was officially bounded in 1991. The neighbouring Manton district had its own school from 1903 until 1946.
