About Harristown

Harristown is a residential suburb about 4.4 km southwest of Toowoomba's CBD on the Darling Downs, at an elevation of 669 metres. Named after Brisbane businessman George Harris, it was first subdivided in 1902 and experienced rapid growth after World War II. Notable landmarks include the heritage-listed Drayton and Toowoomba Cemetery, established in 1850 as one of Queensland's earliest surviving cemeteries.
