About Marcoola
Marcoola is a coastal town and locality in the Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia, situated between Maroochydore and Coolum, from which its name derives. Bounded by the Coral Sea to the east and the Maroochy River to the west, the locality features a long sandy coastline known as Marcoola Beach. Sunshine Coast Airport, originally opened as Maroochy Airport in 1961, is located in the south. Sections of Mount Coolum National Park and the Maroochy Wetlands Conservation Park lie within its boundaries.
