About Maleny

Maleny is a town on the Blackall Range in the Sunshine Coast hinterland of Queensland, about 90 km north of Brisbane and 450 m above sea level. Settled as a timber town, it became a centre of dairying and fruit growing from the early 1920s, with a butter factory opening in 1904. Today Maleny is a tourism centre known for its galleries and craft shops, views of the Glass House Mountains and the rainforest of Mary Cairncross Reserve.
