About Crohamhurst
Crohamhurst is a rural locality in the Sunshine Coast hinterland of Queensland, near the Glass House Mountains. The locality holds the Australian record for highest daily rainfall, when 907 mm of rain fell in a single day in February 1893 during the passage of a cyclone. It is also the site of the heritage-listed Crohamhurst Observatory, built in 1935 by the weather forecaster Inigo Jones, who measured that record rainfall.
