About Barwidgi
Barwidgi is a vast, sparsely populated rural locality in the Shire of Mareeba in Far North Queensland, covering dry eucalypt savanna country in the Gulf hinterland about 200 kilometres south-west of Cairns. The locality is used mainly for extensive cattle grazing and is reached by remote outback tracks, with the nearest services at Chillagoe to the north.
