About McKinlay

McKinlay is an outback town and locality in McKinlay Shire, Queensland, established in 1888 as a staging post for Cobb and Co coaches and a gathering point for graziers from surrounding properties. The McKinlay Shire Council offices were originally located in the town until they were moved to Julia Creek in 1930.
