About Crystalbrook
Crystalbrook is a sparsely populated rural locality in the Shire of Mareeba in Far North Queensland, west of the town of Dimbulah. The heritage-listed Fischerton Water Race, built in 1894 for the Tate Alluvial Tin Syndicate, runs about ten kilometres from the Tate River across the area. Tin was discovered on the river in 1878, and the town of Fischerton was surveyed on its north bank in 1893.
