About Blackbull
Blackbull is a rural locality in the Shire of Croydon in far north Queensland, through which the Carron River and the Gulf Developmental Road pass. It was originally called Pattersons siding before being renamed in 1891 after a black bull found during mustering by William and Joseph Taaffe. The weekly Gulflander tourist train stops at the siding.
