About Glenfern (Qld)
Glenfern is a rural locality in the Somerset Region of south-east Queensland, about 7 km east of Kilcoy along the D'Aguilar Highway. Its southern boundary follows the Stanley River, and parts of the locality are submerged when Somerset Dam is full. The locality name is likely to come from the Glenfern Hotel, licensed from 1880, and Glenfern railway station served the area from 1913 until the line closed in 1964.
