About Foulden
Foulden is a rural locality in the Mackay Region of Queensland, on the northern bank of the Pioneer River. It takes its name from Foulden in Norfolk, England, birthplace of sugar planter Francis Tyssen Amhurst, whose Foulden Sugar Mill operated from 1872 to 1887. The first bridge over the Pioneer River, opened in 1875, connected the locality to West Mackay.
