About Beaconsfield (Qld)
Beaconsfield is a residential suburb of Mackay located about 8 kilometres north of the city centre. Named after the Beaconsfield sugar estate which operated a crushing mill from the 1880s to 1890s, the suburb is home to the Mackay Golf Club, established on its current Beaconsfield course in 1928. Carlisle Adventist Christian College and Beaconsfield State School serve the area.
