About Woodridge (Qld)
Woodridge originated as a timber reserve on elevated, well-wooded ridgelines upstream of Slacks Creek, later growing from small poultry farms into a densely settled suburb. Large-scale public housing in the 1960s attracted Pacific Islander, Vietnamese and African families who now define its multicultural character. Situated on the Beenleigh railway line, it adjoins Logan Central to the south and Kingston to the northeast.
