About Barney View
Barney View is a rural locality in the Scenic Rim Region of Queensland, located about 13 kilometres west-south-west of Rathdowney and 114 kilometres south-south-west of Brisbane. Originally known as Thulimbah, the name was changed in 1916 to avoid confusion with another Queensland district, taking its new name from nearby Mount Barney. The locality is a gateway to Mount Barney National Park.
