About Vernor

Vernor is a quiet rural locality in the Somerset Region, situated approximately 68 kilometres west of Brisbane in the Brisbane Valley hinterland. Named after Captain Robert Vernor, a former British Army officer who took up a land selection in the district, the area is characterised by open grazing land and scattered rural properties. The former railway station, opened with the line in 1884, served primarily to transport milk and cream.
