About Tivoli

Tivoli is a suburb of Ipswich, Queensland, Australia, located four kilometres north-east of the CBD on the north bank of the Bremer River. Named after a local coal mine, coal mining began in 1864 and the suburb was the site of the 1893 Eclipse Colliery disaster in which seven miners drowned. It is home to a historic Congregational church (1875), Tivoli State School (1877), and heritage-listed residences from the Wright family.
