About Oxley (Qld)
Oxley is a south-western suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, situated approximately 15 kilometres from the Brisbane central business district and bounded by the Brisbane River to the north and Oxley Creek to the east. The suburb has a rich history dating to the 1850s as a stop on the Cobb and Co coach route, and today features a mix of residential and industrial land, golf courses, the Queensland Police Academy and the Canossa Private Hospital. The heritage-listed Oxley War Memorial and the Archerfield Wetlands precinct along Oxley Creek are notable features of the suburb.
