About Laidley
Laidley is a rural town in the Lockyer Valley, Queensland, about 65 kilometres west of Brisbane. Named by explorer Allan Cunningham in 1829 after James Laidley, NSW Commissary General, the town developed as a wagon stop between Ipswich and Toowoomba. It styles itself as Queensland's Country Garden and hosts an annual Chelsea Flower Show, with heritage attractions including the Pioneer Village and Das Neumann Haus Museum.
