About Laidley Creek West

Laidley Creek West is a rural locality in the Lockyer Valley Region, situated about 8 kilometres south-west of Laidley. Laidley Creek forms most of its eastern boundary, and the land use is predominantly grazing on native vegetation with some irrigated horticulture along the creek. The creek was named by explorer Allan Cunningham in 1829 after James Laidley, the New South Wales Deputy Commissary General.
