About Tallebudgera Valley
Tallebudgera Valley is an outer locality in the City of Gold Coast, Queensland, situated in the Gold Coast hinterland along the Queensland-New South Wales border. The name is derived from the Yugambeh Aboriginal language, with interpretations including rotten or decayed logs referring to the practice of placing timber in water to attract teredo molluscs for food and good fishing. The area was historically known as Westbury with Westbury Provisional School opening in 1892, renamed Ingleside State School in 1926. Springbrook National Park is in the far southwest and the Tallebudgera Creek Dam is a key feature. Mount Cougal at 724 metres, Mount Gannon at 633 metres and Tallebudgera Mountain at 627 metres dominate the landscape.
