About Currumbin Valley

Currumbin Valley is a rural locality in the City of Gold Coast, Queensland, located in the Gold Coast hinterland and bounded to the south by the Queensland-New South Wales border. Named after the Currumbin Creek that runs through the valley, settlement dates from the 1840s initially for timber getting and grazing. The valley is approximately 24 kilometres long and 4 kilometres wide. Currumbin Creek Road extends 20 kilometres west to the Mount Cougal Section of Springbrook National Park, terminating at a World Heritage-listed rainforest walk with the Cougal Cascades waterfalls. The area is part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage site and Australia's Green Cauldron. The Currumbin Ecovillage is a notable sustainable community and the Currumbin Rock Pools are a popular attraction 12 kilometres inland.
