About Steiglitz (Qld)
Steiglitz is a rural coastal locality in the northern Gold Coast, situated on the western shores of Moreton Bay about 54 kilometres south-east of Brisbane. The town centres on Cabbage Tree Point, a headland offering fishing and boating access to the bay's calm tidal waters. Named after Stegelitz in Germany, it reflects the German pioneer families who settled the district in the 19th century.
