About Mermaid Beach

Mermaid Beach is a coastal suburb of the City of Gold Coast in Queensland, between Broadbeach and Miami. Its name honours the cutter HMS Mermaid, in which surveyor John Oxley landed on the beach in 1824. The suburb has a long surf beach with two surf life-saving clubs, and Nobby Beach is a neighbourhood at its southern end.
