About Main Beach
Main Beach is a coastal suburb on the Gold Coast, Queensland, originally known as Southport East and developed as the main surf beach for the town of Southport. The suburb grew following the opening of the Jubilee Bridge in 1926, and today features a mix of high-rise living and permanent residential neighbourhood centred on Tedder Avenue. It is bordered by the Coral Sea to the east and the Gold Coast Seaway to the north.
