About Carrara
Carrara is built on the Guragunbah Plain along the southern bank of the Nerang River. Originally a cotton plantation in the 1860s, it is now a major sporting hub and home to the Gold Coast Suns' stadium, developed for the 2018 Commonwealth Games. The suburb sits centrally on the Gold Coast, adjoining Nerang and lying inland from Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach.
