Bundall

About Bundall

Bundall is an inner suburb of the City of Gold Coast, Queensland, situated approximately 2.6 kilometres south-east of Surfers Paradise and bounded to the south by the Nerang River. The name derives from an Aboriginal word for a species of prickly vine. The area was settled in 1862 by British landowner Edmund Henry Price, who established a sugarcane plantation later replaced by dairy farming until the mid-twentieth century. Suburban development began in the 1960s with canal estates, including the Sorrento neighbourhood along the river. Notable features include the Gold Coast Turf Club, the Home of the Arts cultural precinct, and the Gold Coast City Council chambers, making Bundall a significant civic and commercial hub.
