About Athol

Athol is a small rural locality in the Lockyer Valley Region of south-east Queensland, situated on the western foothills of the Great Dividing Range approximately 80 kilometres west of Brisbane. The area is characterised by grazing land, dairy farms and remnant bushland on the rolling hills at the edge of the Lockyer Valley. Athol lies within the broader agricultural landscape of the Lockyer Valley, with the nearby town of Gatton providing local services and the surrounding area featuring cleared pastoral land and remnant eucalypt woodland.
