About Parkhurst
Parkhurst is a northern suburb of Rockhampton in the Rockhampton Region, Queensland, located approximately nine kilometres north of the Rockhampton CBD. The heritage-listed Glenmore Homestead, established in the late 1850s, is one of the earliest in the Rockhampton area. During World War II, approximately 45,000 American soldiers camped around Parkhurst. Parkhurst Town Centre, a Woolworths-anchored shopping complex, opened in 2016. The suburb is home to the Rockhampton Heritage Village, an open-air museum showcasing the region's history, and the Limestone Creek Environmental Park with walking tracks and birdwatching.
