About Wycarbah
Wycarbah is a rural locality in the Rockhampton Region of Central Queensland, located about 35 kilometres northwest of Rockhampton on the Capricorn Highlands. The landscape features undulating terrain with open woodland and native grassland, with the Fitzroy River flowing through the northwestern part and Mount Hay, a volcanic hill rising to about 300 metres, as a prominent feature. The locality is a gateway to gemstone tourism at Mt Hay Thunder Egg Park, where visitors collect thunder eggs formed from 118-million-year-old volcanic lava flows, and the historic Rosewood Homestead built in 1881 now resides at Rockhampton Heritage Village.
