About Isla
Isla is a large rural locality in the Shire of Banana in central Queensland, bounded by the Dawson River and Dawson Range. The Leichhardt Highway passes through the area, which is home to Isla Gorge National Park in its western section. The park features a complex maze of gorges and sandstone monoliths, with outstanding scenery and rich plant life gazetted as national park in 1964. The traditional custodians are the Kongabulla and Wulli Wulli peoples.
