About Emu Park
Emu Park is a coastal town on the Capricorn Coast of Queensland, in the Shire of Livingstone, about 21 km south of Yeppoon and 30 km north-east of Rockhampton, overlooking the islands of Keppel Bay. Gazetted as a seaside watering place in 1869, it was soon known by its present name after the local emus and park-like foreshore. The town is known for the Singing Ship, a monument unveiled in 1970 to commemorate Captain Cook's voyage, and Bell Park, a botanic garden heritage-listed for its remnant hoop pines.
