About Duaringa
Duaringa is a rural town in the Central Highlands Region of Queensland, on the Capricorn Highway west of Rockhampton, in a locality of central Queensland grazing country. Established in the 1870s as a settlement for railway workers on the Central Western railway line, it is one of the oldest townships in the region, with some buildings dating from the 1860s. The locality is bounded by the Dawson and Mackenzie rivers, which meet nearby to form the Fitzroy River.
