About Wallaroo (Qld)

Wallaroo is a rural locality in Central Queensland, split between the Central Highlands Region and the Aboriginal Shire of Woorabinda, about 19 km west-south-west of Duaringa. The Capricorn Highway and the railway line of the Blackwater system, on the former Central Western railway, cross the locality side by side. It was settled in the late 1890s, when the Wallaroo Provisional School operated from around 1898 until 1909, but today the locality has no people or a very low population.
