About Tully Heads

Tully Heads is a coastal town in the Cassowary Coast Region where the Tully River meets the Coral Sea, about 20 kilometres south-east of Tully. Rockingham Bay, named by Cook in 1770, lies immediately offshore and Googarra Beach extends along the coast. The community was extensively damaged by storm surge from Cyclone Yasi in February 2011, and a boat ramp on Mosquito Creek provides access to the river system.
