About Shannonvale

Shannonvale is a rural locality in the Douglas Shire of Far North Queensland, about 10 kilometres south-west of Mossman and 75 kilometres north of Cairns, on the traditional lands of the Kuku Yalanji people. Most of the locality lies within the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Wet Tropics of Queensland, and its sugarcane fields are served by a cane tramway network that carries harvests to the Mossman Sugar Mill.
