About Mirriwinni

Mirriwinni is a rural town and locality in the Cairns Region, Queensland, Australia, on the Bruce Highway and the North Coast railway line, in the foothills of Mount Bartle Frere. The land is largely used for sugarcane farming, and the town's name, first used for the railway station in 1915, reportedly means mountain rock.
