About Westlake
Westlake is a south-western suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, located 14 km south-west of central Brisbane. Developed as part of the LJ Hooker Centenary Project from 1959, it was named on 8 January 1973 after the lake constructed by the project. Westlake adjoins Riverhills, Middle Park, and Mount Ommaney, sharing the Pullen Reach shoreline of the Brisbane River. The suburb features riverside properties and a neighbourhood shopping centre. The Westlake-Riverhills Bushcare Group, formed in 1993, preserves local riverfront bushland.
