About Fitzgibbon
Fitzgibbon is a northern suburb of Brisbane, about 16 km north of the CBD, named after Abraham Fitzgibbon, Queensland's first Commissioner of Railways. Roughly triangular in shape, it is bounded by the North Coast railway line, Cabbage Tree Creek and Telegraph Road, and was subdivided for residential use from the 1980s. A compact, family-oriented suburb of newer homes, it has retained bushland corridors and a large public reserve in its north.
