About Bracken Ridge

Bracken Ridge is a northern residential suburb of the City of Brisbane in Queensland, located 18 kilometres north of the Brisbane central business district. Named after the bracken fern-covered landscape, the first land sales were held on 3 August 1857 with William Loudon as the first purchaser. The Emily Seebohm Aquatic Centre, opened in 2016, and the Tinchi Tamba Wetlands Reserve are key landmarks. The suburb is home to Olympic swimmer Emily Seebohm and author Trent Dalton. The highest area features a park and reservoir with views to Moreton Bay and Brisbane CBD.
