About Lota

Lota is a bayside suburb in Brisbane's east, about 16 kilometres from the CBD. Named after Lota House, the 1863 residence of Irish-born pastoralist William Duckett White, the heritage-listed homestead was the heart of a productive estate growing sugar cane and orchards. The first Cleveland railway line opened through Lota in 1889.
