About Thornlands
Thornlands is a coastal residential locality in the City of Redland, Queensland, located 32 kilometres southeast of the Brisbane CBD. Named after George Thorn, a major landholder whose lands were subdivided around 1900, the area was originally settled by fruit growers cultivating citrus, bananas and mangoes on chocolate-coloured soil.
