About Capalaba

Capalaba is an urban locality in the City of Redland, Queensland, located 22 kilometres southeast of the Brisbane CBD along the eastern bank of Tingalpa Creek. Its name is derived from the Yugarabul word meaning place of possum scrub, and the town was renamed from Tingalpa to Capalaba in 1927. It serves as the second most populous suburb in the Redlands region.
