About Humpty Doo
Humpty Doo is a town in the Northern Territory, about 40 km east of Darwin on the Arnhem Highway, on the traditional lands of the Djerimanga (Wulna) people. It is known for the Humpty Doo Rice Project, a Territory Rice Limited venture of the 1950s that aimed to make the Adelaide River floodplains Australia's rice bowl before the scheme failed. Today the town is a stopping point for travellers on the road to Kakadu National Park.
