About Grasmere
Grasmere is a rural-residential suburb of the Macarthur Region of Sydney in Camden Council, New South Wales, located 74 kilometres from the Sydney central business district. Originally home to the Gandangara people of the Southern Highlands and the Muringong, the southernmost of the Darug people, the area was part of the early colonial pastoral expansion in the Cowpastures district following John Macarthur's grant of 5,000 acres at Camden in 1805.
