About Camden South
Camden South is a suburb of the Macarthur Region of Sydney, New South Wales, in Camden Council, immediately south of the town of Camden. The suburb takes in the heritage-listed Camden Park Estate and Belgenny Farm, the historic property established by wool pioneer John Macarthur in the early 1800s and the oldest pastoral sheep stud in Australia. Farming land for much of its history, the area was subdivided for housing as Sydney's suburbs expanded.
