About Bagotville

Bagotville is a small rural locality in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, situated on the Alstonville Plateau within Ballina Shire, roughly 20 kilometres south-west of Ballina. The locality takes its name from the Bagot family, who established a sawmill in the district in the early 1890s, and it sits near the Tuckean Broadwater and Richmond River floodplain. The surrounding area features fertile red basalt soils that once supported dense subtropical forest.
