About Ellerslie (Wentworth - NSW)
Ellerslie, also known as Palinyewah, is a locality in south-western New South Wales about 47 km north-east of Wentworth, in the Murray region. The irrigated settlement was released as soldier settlement blocks, and the area is largely devoted to citrus fruit production, with orchards watered from the Murray and Darling river systems. Palinyewah Public School opened in May 1954, starting out in a small shed on a nearby farm.
